Last month over thirty residents were ‘messing about’ in boats on the River Stort. They cruised for about four hours and enjoyed a substantial picnic lunch organised by a stalwart group of volunteers. The boats were provided by Canalability which is a charity based on the river. A further 5 or so cruises have been arranged for Christmas, (the boats are heated) and early next summer.

The first Takeley Park Christmas Fayre was a fantastic success with £900 raised for the Alzheimer’s Society. Over 110 residents and their families enjoyed the fayre which was organised by the park’s Residents Association supported by the Teena Ettridge, Park Manager.
An intrepid band of stalwart volunteers ran stalls selling a variety of sweets, cakes, pickles, marmalade, toys for children and bric a brac.. A very big thank you to everyone who contributed to such a wonderful and enjoyable event.
Over 40 residents from Takeley Park enjoyed a delicious Christmas meal at Takeley Silver Jubilee Hall on the 13th December 2015. This fantastic event was organised by a small group of residents and Teena Ettridge, Park Manager at Takeley Park.
A merry band of volunteers led by Sue Wood and Jean Hull cooked and served a delicious three course dinner whilst pupils from Takeley Primary School aged between 7 and 9 years old entertained party goers with lovely Christmas songs and carols.
Father Christmas visited at the end of the dinner to present everyone with a commemorative slice of cake, Mr and Mrs Jefford who recently moved to Takeley Park won the Waitrose voucher kindly donated by Turners Parks Group.
It was a memorable occasion and has done much to galvanise the park community spirit, a great time was had by all!
Resident’s at St John’s Priory Park have been bowled over by a fantastic evening of skittles and supper at The Plough Inn, Fairford.
